Have spent the past few hours building the new MSH Protos which is in the same size class as the Trex 500. Thought id share some photos of the build and some side by side shots.

Have anyone flown this bird yet?

I have been thinking about a 500 for some time, and this looks more and more interresting.

How does it fly compared to the rex?

it would take a lot to beat the rex 500 it is a great machine . also how available are the spares / upgrades and what is the cost of them . it would all have to be looked at before you buy a heli in any class

Spares are available at all retailers, and they are cheap too:)

Upgrades??? we should atleast wait to see what needs upgrading....

this is what people need to know and find out about.but  it not just a question about what it needs, some upgrades are all about aesthetics .align helis are the biggest selling with that comes reassurance that the bits will be available for some time to come

Bunch of small little glitches in these first production runs, but this is MSH's first heli so its to be expected. They are already working on fixing these minor issues, most of them are just tolerance errors as they wanted things to be tighter rather than looser.

AUW is about 300 grams lighter! That means you can actually use the normal T-Rex packs in series very reliably. Also same AUW as the T500 w/lipo when using 7s a123.

But parts are the real killer. You can get parts at all the great online stores (readyheli), but they seem to be about 2x more expensive than Align. Most likely because they cant crank out the parts like Align can, but 2x the price in crashes... thats something to think about.

its pretty irrelevant  to the quality or the performance of the heli but I think the box it comes in and the canopy look pretty sweet. But then again I like tech looking stuff.

I dont have one  Hmm?
I've read the MSH thread on rcgroups, I was interested getting one in the future until I saw the prices for parts, and the little issues in these first kits.
