No, its not metal, thats why i wrote align metal.

The Protos grips comes complete with all bearings, but they are plastic.

Align have a two gear design, and sell each of them in 2-packs, which add up to aprox 22$, protos on the other hand, have only one gear, and sell them one by one for 4$.

I think everyone can second that, how long do you think it will take you to get it in the air?

I saw one fly on the weekend with the stock motor and 6s lipo and Futaba s9650 servos (They fit without cutting the tabs off) not sure what ESC he was using. It looked very impressive and it was really fast. The climb outs were wicked.

I would'nt choose one over the Rex but would like one aswell. I don't know weather it was just different people on the sticks or not but the MSH Proto looked like it moved around a lot quicker and the better flyer was flying the Rex. The canopy looks cool and is pretty good for visability.
The guy flying the proto ended up crashing it and it held up very well IMO. Just canopy (You could still use it though),landing struts, flybar, blades and boom. The frame looked fine the plastic seems very robust but is very light.

Over here they cost $100.00 les than the GF T-rex 500 but thats with no ESC.

I would expect the protos to be quicker as the bird as about 15% lighter.

Anyhow this is not necessarily an advantage as we learned from the T-Rex 700 balde discussion (690 vs. 710mm blades). I also expect the leightwaight design to have an impact on the durability/reliability of the bird - time will tell.

But i have to admit that i like the protos and competition only helps to drive innovation.

The only thing that keeps me from ordering a Protos is the spare support i will get in my region - if that going to change one day i might get one Wink
