...on the spot. Hit Idle switch and spool down rotor....all fine; the heli stud on the wood block on one side and on the [remaining] skid on the other side.
Wow...nice job Surri!
I've had the same problem on my simulator a few times, but of course there's no block of wood to practice on there.

Hi Toby;
Welcome to this forum...it's great, just as our ASI's. BTW - where are you located? You may want to update your profile.
In regard to the tail wagging problem, this is [likley] being an engine issue. Assuming you are hoovering with about 5000-6000rpm, tweak the L / H needle of the carburetor unitil tail wagging is gone. Here is how I tweak the engine in addition to the standard setup procedure:
> in idle the engine shall sound every 3-5 seconds like a 4-stroke engine
> in hoover (typically around 50% rpm and below max torque) the tail shall not shake
> transitioning from hoover to max clime the engine shall provide continuous increasing power (rpm)
Hope this helps.
Cheers - Surri

Thanks for that I have tuned the engine as per manufactures instructions and it now runs quite smooth, I am not sure of my head speed but it seems quite high i guess I could put the throttle curve a bit higher bring up the RPM and see if it helps.
I am an Australian have been living in Fiji for the last 4 years but i will be returning to Australia in a few months.
Good to find this forum looks like lots of good Heli info here.
I also have a Trex 500 and a blade 400 have the same tail wag in the Trex 500 have tried everything that has been posted on every forum without luck, so I have just order a new upgrade tail hope it fixes it.
Here is the first footage I have shot from it you can see the tail wag spoils it.

Yes it is for sale and with the Fiji $having just fallen 20% it's a bargain.
I'm going to have to do some marketing for my Fiji resort/ Villa project in Australia
but I will be back in Fiji ASAP great place to live.
I just made a new base for my Mongoose going to fix a camera mount underneath over the weekend.

Hi Jim I would kill for your Jet heli sweet machine, I overheated my G260RC engine the other day after fitting a DDM intake manifold, I think it was for a different model engine and when trying to tune it it overheated and scored the bore and piston. I have a new ported head and big bore kit on the way so should be up in the air soon, bad timing though as my new Flypod camera mount has just arrived.
I cant wait to get some shots with it looks the bizz.
Regards
Toby

ASI are one of the finest helicopter you can purchase for Aerial photography they do business with the military, and private company's . Josef joebstl, the owner of AirStar International builds these intense machines, completely custom at his shop tailored to any kind of conditioned for a customer needs. These helicopters are equipped to carry heavy payloads camera, equipment for the movie business right down to surveillance, systems . Plus over 20 plus years he has been building and personally using his helicopters in block buster movies. The film industry has complete trust in his skills, of flying these machines for there movie, effects . The Helicopters, that are used is a Mongoose plus they can be customized for other needs. They are completely built out of air craft aluminum , there is no plastic, on these baby's there nothing but brute strength and they are powerful . I would never think of using a helicopter that has plastic parts due to the stress levels that a movie helicopter must endure do not take any chances go with the best for movie helicopters Airstar International . I have video of a plastic rotor head from a large scale helicopter blowing apart into little bits and pieces, only think pure metal Head for a movie camera helicopter. I am a good customer from AirStar International , i have a lot of money in these machines, and have great success with my birds. I hope this helps.
