So I decided to post it here, since it's flybarless... the V-Stabi I tested on Santa moved here to stay (it's an older unit - gee, it's been that long ago since I wrote it up?  WOW!)

The Logo is a breeze to assemble, and because there is so much plastic...  this thing is *light*!  I did a little mod to the frames to allow my existing bats to fit... CG is spot on... and I did upgrade the software to V4...  She's all programmed and trimmed (short flights), just waiting for wx and time to turn her loose.  I am using bank switching, and the new software has easy-to-configure presets... so I have standard heading hold in one bank, and rate mode in another.  We'll see how she does.  You can also tell I raided my Align spare parts on the build instead of buying new (but no worries, I have more).

LOL!

Align motor, main blades, and tail servo even!  Like I said, I raided my spares...  I guess this is just a "parts" bird...  *grin*  As a matter of fact, I think I pulled most of the parts from spares.  Heck, the vbar is old by today's standards...

Hummm...  I must be gettin' old, I guess.  I just wanted a flyin' bird, and didn't want to go shopping...  Still, the stinkin' thing "feels" like a 450 on the sticks...  and I used governed mode on the ESC set to 2000RPM headspeed (I like the new castle stuff), and I measured 2014 with my tach...  so all is good.

(I like the new castle stuff)

Well, you can't go wrong with Align...good stuff! Clap Clap Clap

Have you looked at the flybarless blades from Edge?  I've got a set on my 500 and my 600.  They come perfectly balanced with an awesome finish.  I've haven't flown them on my 500 yet, but they work great on my 600. Two Thumbs Up

As for "Castle", I purchased this awesome little BEC not long ago.  It's good for 25V in and programmable from 4.8V to 9V (and everything in between) out.  Simple and clean...works great on my vintage stuff! Two Thumbs Up

As soon as I can!

Just waitin' on some decent wx that coincides with free time.  She's ready...

Hummm... just realized she doesn't have a name.  How 'bout Clare? That would fulfill that family...  *smile*  Clare...  I like it!

So...  I see I never posted an update... Clare is quite simply a pretty awesome bird to fly.  Very quick, very nimble, very light on the sticks...  She's got somewhere around 50 flights completed... no issues at all.  She'll do mild to wild, totally up to you and how you want to drive.  I was a bit concerned about main bearing wear (seated in plastic races...  are you kidding?), as well as other spots... but this bird seems to be "good enough".   No real wear, and seems to be very easy on the 'lectrics...   so she's becoming a favorite when I go out to fly.

I find I am not flying my models as much lately as I used to, though...  still get in a few flights a week, but the weekends have been pretty much dedicated to my girlfriend and her hobby (her horses - "FanCee", "Chance", and "Katie"...  and haulin' them to shows), or just to her.  *smile*  I have also been paying more attention to my full scale airplane, punkin' (more friends are losing their medicals...  and it is pressing on me to spend as much time with punkin' as I can for as long as I have mine intact)...   funny how life evolves, eh?  I also find I am getting more antsy to blow some bubbles, as it's been a while since I've been diving (PADI gold card, nitrox cert'd)...  last time was three years ago in the galapagos...

Still... back to the bird in the hand... she's a beauty.  And she's going strong...

Nice to hear you still getting some flights and with the plane too.

Be good to see some updated photos, not seen many for a while.
